Weezer returns to Cincinnati to close out summer music season at The Shoe

Last summer, modern Pop/Rock heroes Weezer were a headliner at the inaugural Bunbury Music Festival along Cincinnati’s riverfront. The band’s set was one hyper-catchy Rock & Roll anthem after another, a reminder of just how consistent and successful Rivers Cuomo and company have been since their classic 1994 self-titled debut.

The band is returning to the area Friday, this time helping to usher out the summer outdoor music season (though, of course, you’ll have some ace outside-music options thanks to next week’s MidPoint Music Festival).

Weezer’s appearance at Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati is one of the last performances of the new gaming center’s surprisingly strong inaugural summer concert series at its cozy outdoor venue, The Shoe.

7:30 p.m. $48. Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati, 1000 Broadway St., Pendleton, horseshoecincinnati.com .
