CINCINNATI - The Queen City holds the title of paddling capital of the United States.

In celebration of the city's heritage, Coney Island will host the 11th annual Ohio River Paddlefest, the largest paddling event in the Midwest.

The event runs June 21 through June 23, beginning with the Kids Outdoor Adventure Expo Thursday. Kids will have the chance to tour the AEP River Operations tow boat, learn about working on the river, how to fish, renewable energy sources, different bird species and how to be safe in the water.

On Saturday, June 23, listen to live local music and take part in the a fishing contest, boat race and silent auction. Also enjoy the 8.2 mile float trip, the 11-mile amateur race or the 14-mile pro race. The finish line is at Yeatman's Cove where live music, vendors and refreshments will be available.

Ohio Senator Rob Portman will be there as well. He will compete in Saturday's early morning race.
