CINCINNATI -- Looking for a fun, short hike you can easily do after work or on the weekends? We've got the right trail for you.

The Caldwell Nature Preserve, tucked away just off West North Bend Road, and only about 15 minutes from downtown Cincinnati, has more than three miles of trail. I spent a muggy afternoon hiking with my canine sidekick, Ada, as we spent about two hours roaming through the woods. We were moving a bit slow that day, mostly due the heat and making frequent photography breaks.

While we didn't come across much wildlife on this trip (and thank goodness for no reptiles, because I'm not a fan of snakes), but there were lots of squirrels scrambling along the path. I also took the trails closest to the creek to help stay cool.

So if you're looking for an easily accessible hike, I highly recommend this one. It's great for families and dog owners, but don't forget -- keep your dog leashed at all times. Below is a short video from our little adventure.
