Singer/songwriter SIA will donate the proceeds from her collaboration with EMINEM to the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center, following criticism of the rapper's use of anti-gay slurs on his new album.

Titanium hitmaker Sia recently came under fire for working with the controversial artist on his latest record, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, in which Eminem uses anti-gay slurs, and says, "Break a motherf**ker's table over the back of a couple of f**gots and crack it in half" in his song, Rap God.

However Sia, who is featured on his track Beautiful Pain, has chosen to fire back at the criticism by giving her profits from their duet to a good cause, as a representative from the Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Center confirms her donation will benefit homeless lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LBGT) youth living in California.

While Sia has yet to speak out about her generous donation, she has come to the defense of Eminem, insisting her pal is not homophobic but rather using his platform as a rapper to create performance art.

In a series of posts on Twitter.com in response to a follower questioning her allegiance to Eminem, she writes, "I know personally that he is not homophobic, but a performance artist. I would never work with someone I believed to be homophobic.

"He has a character called slim shady who represents the worst and darkest bile of America. I see how it can be unclear. But I assure you he is not homophobic himself. He does certainly respect the gay community he is close to in his personal life."
