British pop star LILY ALLEN missed out on a huge pay cheque by turning down a job because the payment was in digital currency bitcoins.
The Smile singer was asked to stream a live performance on online gaming world Secondlife.com for a payment of "hundreds of thousands of bitcoins", but Allen quickly dismissed the offer.
The value of the currency rocketed to around $900 per bitcoin in early 2014, and Allen now realizes she could have made millions.
In a post on her Twitter.com account, she writes, "About 5 years ago someone asked me to stream a gig live on Second Life for hundreds of thousnds (sic) of bitcoins, 'as if' I said. Idiot."
