MIAMI - Tropical Storm Debby is churning in the Gulf of Mexico and is expected to dump heavy rain from Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle, where Tropical Storm warnings are in effect.
3"-6" are expected across most locations with isolated areas getting up to 10". Severe thunderstorms with isolated tornadoes are also possible.
As of Sunday morning, the storm had maximum sustained winds of 60 mph, and is expected to strengthen to near hurricane strength by Monday night.
This is the first time four tropical storms have been recorded before July 1 st.
