CINCINNATI - Below is a timeline of the severe thunderstorms that rolled through the Tri-State around lunch-time Tuesday.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was issued shortly after 10:30 this morning... well ahead of the storms that were brewing in Northern Indiana, but they were moving fast.
Severe weather first hit the Tri-State in Butler, Warren, and Clinton counties.
We shot video in Warren County just before noon, where dark clouds moved in first, followed by strong winds and rain. Winds of up to 60 miles per hour took down several trees, and rainfall amounts of over an inch were reported in Lebanon.
Next, the line of severe storms raced southeast, moving through downtown. Our Sky Cam shows the dark, ominous clouds, quickly followed by heavy rain. Over an inch of rainfall was recorded in Madeira that fell within 25 minutes!
As the line of storms continued through Clermont County, there were multiple reports of trees down all over the county and power lines also went down.
The storms continued to move into Northern Kentucky and began to fizzle out, but strange-looking clouds were reported and photographed by 9 news viewers. We have lots of pictures on Facebook that were posted as the line of severe storms exited the Tri-State and moved through Northern Kentucky.
We want to see your pictures of the severe weather! You can post them to our Facebook page or email them to newsdesk@wcpo.com .
