High winds and a spring-like ban of thunderstorms Wednesday morning knocked out power to thousands in the Tri-State, but repair crews have nearly restored power to all Hamilton County customers.

Only about 800 customers are without power as of 9:35 a.m., from a high of more than 3,000. Campbell County, Kentucky, and Clermont County, Ohio, customers received the brunt of the storm.

Approximately 217 customers in Clermont County and another 488 customers in Campbell County, Kentucky, are without power. In Hamilton County, Ohio, only 27 customers are affected.

Duke Energy spokesperson Sally Thelen said line technicians, service crew and personnel area are already on hand to address power issues. Crews checked equipment, supplies and inventories ahead of the storms earlier this week, she said.

In Hamilton, Ohio, approximately 800 customers are without power after a breaker "locked out," according to city officials. The affected area includes customers on North B Street, North D Street, and on Ridgelawn and Eaton avenues. Restoration efforts are underway.

The WCPO Storm Shield weather app is also available for download, which sends life-saving information and updates to your smartphone.

Downed lines can be reported to police departments or Duke Energy by calling 1-800-544-6900.
