DALLAS - One of the Texas tornadoes ripped through the Arlington area, and has now been confirmed as an EF-2 tornado with winds up to 135 mph, and was on the ground for 4.6 miles.  The path of destruction was measured at a quarter mile wide!

Tuesday a tornado outbreak hit the Dallas/Fort Worth area, where more than 650 homes were damaged, and over a dozen people were injured.

Surveys have been done to determine the damage caused by these devastating tornadoes, but it’s the video that shows the power of these storms.

“Get in the house!”  yells a woman, as a tornado approaches Arlington, Texas.

Tractor-trailers weighing at least 30,000 pounds, were tossed around like toys.  One-by-one, the trailers were plucked from a yard and thrown about.

There were more than 18 tornado reports and after National Weather Service teams surveyed the damage, they’ve confirmed an EF-3 tornado with winds up to 150 mph in Forney, and a high end EF-2 tornado in Lancaster & Hutchins, just south of Dallas.

A strong tornado also ripped through the Arlington area, and has now been confirmed as an EF-2 tornado with winds up to 135 mph that was on the ground for 4.6 miles, and measured a quarter mile wide!

The fact of the matter is, more lives were saved because these were daylight tornadoes and people could see and hear the warnings.

Tornadoes that occur at night while people are sleeping can be more deadly.  All the more reason to have that NOAA weather radio.
