CINCINNATI - The Thanksgiving forecast is shaping up to be mild and dry for the Tri-State this year. Do you remember how the weather was in 2011 or during past Thanksgiving holidays?
November 2011 was the wettest on record for Cincinnati. We saw 8.33 inches of rain. Cincinnati also made the record books with the ninth warmest November on record with an average high of 49.1 degrees.
How will we stack up this year?
The National Weather Service in Wilmington has compiled Thanksgiving Day weather statistics dating back to 1871. The dates below have a wide spectrum of temperatures and precipitation on Thanksgiving Day in Cincinnati.
This year, 2012 forecast models indicate that the Tri-State will be in the mid to upper 50s with dry conditions for Thanksgiving. That would put us well above normal in terms of temperature, but we've seen warmer Thanksgivings and we've experienced much drier weather than last years record precipitation numbers for November.
By the way, last year (2011) Thanksgiving Day in Cincinnati came in at 47 degrees (high) and 35 degrees (low) with no rain.
Happy Thanksgiving!
