CRESCENT SPRINGS, Ky. - Nearly all of the lawn sprinklers at Home Depot in Crescent Springs, Ky. were sold within the first 24 hours of the arrival of extreme heat this past weekend, 9 News has learned.

One store employee offered tips to save your trees as the temperature climbs with no sign of rain in the forecast.

Nancy Fedders suggests taking a three-foot piece of plastic piping, capping one end, drilling holes down the length of it and then attaching your hose to the other end. Then you can drive the pipe vertically into the ground to get water to the roots of the trees you could lose in the heat.

The store manager expects a new shipment of sprinklers within the coming days.
