The Country's Adult Playground-Las Vegas

What is it about Las Vegas? Excuse me, "Vay-gus!, Vay-gusssssss!"

Sure, they have one of the best marketing slogan's ever. Or maybe, it's all the nation's sins jammed into one long street. Whatever the reason, it rarely disappoints. Let's face it. Few cities in America have a "vibe". Manhattan, Chicago-Michigan Avenue, Miami-South Beach, and definitely Las Vegas.

My trip revolved around a 21st birthday. My son, his good friend, and the two dads went to celebrate the call of adulthood. As my son said, " I'm now official." This plan has been in place for two years. You can imagine the build up!

Here's just the 1st day of my Vegas journal: ( the less proof the better) but nevertheless it shows the "epic" ( my son's word) time that we all enjoyed!

8:02 am-Arrive at McCarren International Airport immediately Kyle & Murf began to scope out the hotties! They begin by making a dollar bet as to who can find the best looking women within five minutes. Murf loses feels Kyle got lucky!

9:07-First sign of a good time in Vegas. Our reserved rental car is all out, we get upgraded. Nice!

9:34-We drive the neon filled Las Vegas Blvd. Murf who's never seen Vegas says, "Are all the hotels this huge?" & "That's a big lion."

10:10-At Palm Valley Golf Course & on for only $45 with a cart. Stealing? Nice place to hit after a plane ride but the average golfer is a bit older. Talked to one guy who retired from radio...his co-worker? I think Marconi!

12:20 pm- Making the turn and surprisingly we are all playing well. That's not a good sign! I'm shortly proved right on the back.

1:09- Oooo! something is making it hard to focus!

1:17- Whoops! blew an easy putt!

1:24- Yikes! Drive just banged off a roof!

1:33- The heck with it...I've played well enough. Time for the Happy Gilmore swing!

1:34- Murf's Dad owns the first memory of the trip. After having a problem lining up his drive, we re-position him. We re-position him, again. And AGAIN! It doesn't last! And in the middle of his back swing...realizing he's out of position -turns his head like the Exorcist and shouts..."I know!" He, then, hits a beautiful drive about 275 yards...right into the fairway!

2:45- Pull into the valet at the Palazzo Hotel. (Skipping ahead, good but not great experience here! Our money should have gone to the Bellagio!)

3:15- Dads pop for a suite but hotel personnel make us jump through hoops to get into the room. Then, hit us with an upgrade charge because there are four of us...not two. C'mon On! We're told this includes breakfast and cocktails at 5:00pm...perhaps a bit hasty!

5:01-Surprise! In the Palazzo Lounge.

7:45-Cab ride to N9NE Steakhouse at the Palms Hotel.

8:32-Seated and watch Kevin Durant stroll by with his entourage. Seems a bit aloof...probably just me.

8:33-Nope, I was right. Durant blows off a handshake from former MLBer Frank Thomas. By the way, Thomas looks like a NFL defensive end.

8:35-Our server, Marco, says just wait. Celebrities a plenty cuz of a UFC fight is in town.

8:39-"The Iceman"-Chuck Liddell, Kim Kardashian, Josh Duhamel, Ryan Reynolds, and Larry Fitzsgerald, Warren Sapp, James Harden, Nick Collison and Cris Angel all take tables around the restaurant.

9:02- Served a gorgeous looking porterhouse. This place has NEVER disappointed. Steak probably the best I've ever had!

9:23-Murf's Dad asks for a servers jacket. Marco obliges...Ok, they do work on tips! Take a look at the slide show.

9:25-Murf's Dad begins escorting people to their tables & asks the hostess "How's the seating going tonight?"

10:45-Pay the check...NASA's shuttle program doesn't cost this much!

10:47- We all play 'Let it Ride' great card game that doesn't act like a magician with your money. Actually walk away...up!

12:04 am-Inside "Rain" the Palm's nightclub...thanks to the college tuition-like check!

12:05 am-Kyle & Murf gone! We think they're in that sea of humanity bouncing and thumping to the music.

3:32 am-Murf's Dad is gone. Not sure where?

4:02 am-A Bachelorette party invites me into the suite overlooking the dance floor.

4:02:01 am Decline graciously...I've been married for 23 years for declining these kinds of requests!

4:07 am-Kyle & Murf hanging with some hotties

4:08 am- Kyle & Murf lose hotties to Cris Angel and his entourage!

4:32 am- Tell Kyle & Murf "I'm done" and take a cab home.

5:35 am- Kyle & Murf slam the hotel room door and laughing. Something about "Can you believe they bought it?!"

5:36 am- I yell, "Shut up and get some sleep. Our tee time is at 7:32!"

5:37 am- Note to self...got to slow down the next two days!
