Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk 2012

The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk will be held this Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012. The Making Strides event unites people of all ages with a common goal to fight breast cancer. Chances are, you or someone you know has been affected by breast cancer, and Making Strides gives you the power to fight back and make a difference.

The Making Strides Walk begins at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 14. In order to accommodate the large number of participants, the following streets will close at 8 a.m. and remain closed until approximately 12 p.m.:
- Fifth St - closed from Elm St to Sentinel St
- Elm St - closed from Mehring Way to Fifth St
- Sentinel St - closed from Fifth St to Eggleston Ave
- Race St - closed from Fifth St to Sixth St
- Vine St- closed from Fourth St to Fifth St (access maintained to hotel)
- Walnut St - closed from Fifth St to Sixth St
- Main St - closed from Fourth St to Fifth St
- Sycamore St - closed from Fifth St to Sixth St
- Eggleston Ave (southbound only) - closed from Reedy St to Pete Rose Way
- Mehring Way - closed from Smith St to East Pete Rose Way
- Central Ave- closed from Third St to Mehring Way
- Joe Nuxhall Way - closed from Mehring Way to Second St
- Johnny Bench Way- closed from Mehring Way to E Pete Rose Way
- Broadway - southbound only closed from Third St to E Pete Rose Way

The Cincinnati Cyclones will be holding their Power Play 5K this Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012. This run will require the following streets to close on Saturday, Oct. 13 at 4:30 p.m., and remain closed until approximately 8 p.m.:

Mehring Way- westbound closed between E Pete Rose Way and Gest Street
W Pete Rose Way- closed between Broadway and Johnny Bench Way
Johnny Bench Way- closed between W Pete Rose Way and Mehring Way
Joe Nuxhall Way- closed between Freedom Way and Mehring Way
Freedom Way- closed between Walnut Street and Joe Nuxhall Way
Elm Street- closed between Second Street and Mehring Way
Central Avenue- closed between E Pete Rose Way and Mehring Way
E Pete Rose Way- eastbound closed between Gest Street and Central Avenue
