A Blue Ash company has turned a mission of keeping you and your family safe on the road into a big business. Now a locally-made gadget is keeping people alive and on the job.
The ribbon-cutting of the brand new headquarters for Lifesafer Ignition Devices brought out a lot of well-known names.
Lifesafer, a company that makes a device similar to a breathalyzer preventing a vehicle from starting if the driver has been drinking, outgrew its Norwood location and has moved to Glendale-Milford Road in Blue Ash.
"We are currently the largest ignition air lock company in the United States and we plan to maintain that and continue to grow between now and then end of the year. We plan to grow from our 70 employees at this location to over a hundred," said Craig Armstrong, President and CEO of Lifesafer.
Lifesafer equipment is now in 43 states, which means safer roads.
"We are just light years ahead of where we were 10, 15, 20 years ago that's part of what's grown credibility to our industry in terms of being a useful toy to prevent drunk driving and spare families the tragedy of losing a loved one to a drunk driver," said Jerry Stanton, Co-founder of Lifesafer.
