Rams in this week’s 9 On Your Sidelines matchup with their athleticism both sides of the ball. The Owls program has now won 10 straight contests dating back to 2011. Head coach Arvie Crouch was more than pleased with what he deemed as a “total team effort.”

Tyree Elliott had a 10-minute stretch in the first half where he was not only the best player on the field he was the best player on the planet. His sensational 66-yard scamper put Mount Healthy (6-0, 3-0) on top at 6-0 less than eight minutes into the first quarter. He would found the end zone again four minutes later from two yards out. The junior capped off The Owls would score.

Up 19 to nothing the junior would deflate Ross’ (2-4, 1-2) sails with a 98-yard run that was a thing of beauty to make 25-0, six and a half minutes before intermission. Elliot would finish the night with 14 carries for 224 yards and the three scores. Crouch was quick to point out the boys up front were blocking pretty well for his young star.

The defense posted their second shutout out in a row as the tone was set early by the relentless play by of twin brothers, Jordan and Justin Lackey. Jordan had a 12 total tackles, blocked a punt that led to a score and was one of four Owls to register a sack. The other three to take down Ross quarterback, Blake Ballard were Demico Dustin, Danny Johnson and Austin McCoy. It was McCoy’s team-high fifth of the year. Donnell Hughes made the most of his first interception taking it 55 yards to the house to give Mount Healthy a 32-0 lead in the fourth quarter.

Things are hitting on all cylinders for Mount Healthy right now. The offense is averaging 40.7 per contest and has yet to score less than 30. The defense has yielded just 33 points on the year.

Mount Healthy heads is on the road at a hot Harrison (3-3, 3-0) next Friday. The Wildcats have won three straight and are tied for first with the Owls in the SWOC. Ross tries to regroup as they host a reeling Wilmington (3-3, 0-3) squad, who has dropped three in a row.
