WCPO-TV has partnered with TriStateFootball.com to present the Meijer High School Football Player of the Week.

Each week, 12-14 nominees will be selected from a large list of some of the area’s top performances and will be included in an online voting poll to determine a winner. The voting opens on Monday and ends each Friday morning at 9 a.m.

Voting is limited to one vote per day, per IP address. Networks may share a single IP, so please be aware of that while casting your vote. Once a player wins once, they will be ineligible to be nominated a second time.

All of the season winners will be recognized and receive a plaque at the TriStateFootball.com Year in Review shows in January.

Here are this week’s nominations:

Blake Bir, CovCath, QB: Threw for a CovCath record six touchdowns while setting the school’s career mark of 59 passing touchdowns in rout of Dixie Heights.

Frank Catrine, Fenwick, RB/DB: Racked up 277 all-purpose yards (158 rushing & 71 receiving) with five total touchdowns (three rushing and two receiving) and had the game-ending interception in an overtime win over Wyoming.

AJ Collins, Cooper, RB: Had four touchdowns (3 RuTD, 1 ReTD) and 68 yards on 12 first-half carries in win over Holy Cross.

Jacob Elbert, Bishop Brossart, RB: Carried the ball 29 times for 429 yards and five touchdowns in win over Middletown Christian.    

Mikel Horton, Lakota West, RB:     Ran for 239 yards on 43 carries with two touchdowns as the Firebirds defeated LaSalle.

Dylan Huff, Bellevue, RB: Tallied 191 yards and four rushing touchdowns in Tigers home win over Newport

Jalin Marshall, Middletown, QB: Ran for 312 yards on 23 carries with three rushing scores, 87 passing yards and a touchdown pass as Middies fell to St. Xavier.

Will Marty, Wyoming, QB: Threw for 307 yards and six touchdown passes in the Cowboys overtime loss to Fenwick.

Shane Roy, Reading, DL: Registered 5.5 sacks as the Blue Devils win their opener of Roger Bacon after going 0-10 in 2011.

Taylor Larison, Monroe, QB: Had three rushing touchdowns in the final 13 minutes to break a 7-7 tie and finished with 238 yards on 23 carries with a passing touchdown in the Hornets win over Talawanda.

Nick Tensing, St. Xavier, QB: Threw for 176 yards, ran for 90 more and had two touchdown passes without an interception in his first varsity start as the Bombers topped Middletown.

Nick Weaver, CHCA, WR/DB: Had 14 receptions for 213 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in the Eagles win over Madeira.

Michael Williams, Taft, QB: Threw for 368 yards, had 118 more on the ground with four rushing and one passing touchdowns in the Senators win over Little Miami.
