Bucs call on uncle 'Oly' to rescue offense

Sometimes you have someone right in the family that can solve the most difficult of problems.   Sometimes that person has been overlooked, or just plan asked to enjoy their position in the family.

Boom.  A crisis.  How do we fix this!   Guess who stepped in to save the Bucs offense?
That's right, Uncle Oly.

Uncle Oly is Greg Olson, former Quarterback Coach of the Bucs, now their new offensive coordinator.  Players call him "Oly."

Don't underestimate what Oly will bring to this Buccaneers offense.  Don't get too caught up in the late off-season change of OC's as trouble in River City. On the contrary, it will be of great benefit.

If the offensive players grasp the little tweaks and additions to the playbook, I'm convinced the NFL will be surprised at what they see.  This team has serviceable quarterback in Byron Leftwich.  If he gets hurt along the way, all bets are off on what I'm about to write.

This Bucs offense has the capabilities to be in the top 10 in the league.  Yes, the league.   I expect this offense, by the third week of the season, to be drilling 20 points a game.

Go ahead, call the guys in the white coats!  I'm not blowing smoke here.  Even with their so-called tough schedule, (how does anyone know how tough a schedule will be) I see good things happening.   Remember, Leftwich must be the guy running the engine here.

It's the defense that most concerns me.  A Tampa Bay defense that was once the cornerstone of this franchise, is a "tweener" this season.  I'm not convinced they have the personnel to pull off what Jim Bates is asking them to do.

Mighty Dallas comes to town this Sunday.  Cowboys are a six-point favorite, and will likely win.  I'm just saying don't throw this Bucs team under the bus just yet.  This group knows they are getting no respect.  This group is not happy about that.  You can measure talent from a distance.  You can't measure their heart.
