LONDON - The head of the U.S. Olympic Committee says he's "disappointed" by the performance of the American men's boxing team at the London Games, promising on Saturday that changes are coming.
USOC CEO Scott Blackmun did not offer specifics, other than saying the committee will sit down to evaluate USA Boxing and "take a hard look at why we are where we are."
The U.S. men's boxing team didn't win an Olympic medal for the time in its history. American women won two, with middleweight Claressa Shields taking gold and flyweight Marlen Esparza winning a bronze.
The men lost nine of their last 10 bouts in London, and USA Boxing — the national governing body — has been criticized for a sharp decline in recent years.
