DETROIT - Ohio is the favorite to win this season's Mid-American Conference title.

The Bobcats, who lost to Northern Illinois in last season's conference title game, were picked to finish ahead of Bowling Green and Miami in the East Division while Toledo was picked to top NIU and Western Michigan in the West. The annual preseason poll was released Tuesday.

Ohio welcomes back 15 starters from a team that went 10-4 last fall. Quarterback Tyler Tettleton, son of former major league catcher Mickey Tettleton, also returns after throwing for 3,286 yards and 28 touchdowns last season.

The MAC also announced an extension with Ford Field, the downtown home of the Detroit Lions, to host the conference title game through 2015.
