CINCINNATI - Turpin and Walnut Hills were both hot riding win streaks of six and ten straight going into this battle at Turpin. But the Eagles junior big man Isaiah Johnson was the difference maker in this one. He had nine at the half and ended the game leading all scorers with 24.
The little men carried the load in the first half with Turpin's Mitch Stevens matching baskets with Walnut's Khari Burton and the Eagles led at the half 33-30.
Walnut Hills (12-2, 9-1 FAVC) takes over sole possession of first place in the FAVC East with their 11th straight win and Turpin (11-2, 7-2 FAVC) slips into second.
Senior Carlitos Anderson added 12 points for Walnut and sophomore Zach McCormick led Turpin with 20. Mitch Stevens had 12.
Walnut Hills next hosts Glen Este January 27 and Turpin hosts Anderson the same night.
