MADEIRA, Ohio - Summit Country Day beat Mariemont 2-1 to improve to 16-4-1 and move on to the final eight of state.

Summit wasted no time and twenty-one seconds into the match Silver Knight freshman Emily Wiser shot it out in front of the goal and sophomore Ellie Adams buried it into the back of the net for her third goal of the season giving Summit the 1-0 lead and they took that in at the half. The assist was Wiser’s tenth this season.

Mariemont came out in the second half applying pressure and when Warrior senior Morgan Beck broke free from the pack, Summit goal-keeper Liz Arnold tried to pounce the ball and that left an open net for Beck and she buried it to tie it at 1-1.

Emily Wiser later added her third goal of the season and that was enough for Summit County Day to beat Mariemont for the second time this season and advance on to play Madeira November 8 at Noon at a place to be determined. Madeira beat Miami East 2-0.
