In a defensive battle, Summit Country Day (5-0, 2-0) finally got their signature MVC win over perennial league stalwart, North College Hill (2-3, 1-1), 14-6. The Knights have been outstanding keeping teams out of the end zone having allowed just 37 points midway through the season and only six over their last three tilts.

Friday night’s affair remained deadlocked at 0-0 when SCD quarterback, Antonio Woods found his big tight end, Daniel Bruns for a 19-yard touchdown. It was the seventh time this season that the duo has hooked up for a score. Summit Country Day was not finished as the senior signal-caller connected with Tre Phillips who managed to dart 43 yards to the end zone to put the Silver Knights up 14-0 minutes later.

North College Hill would make it interesting with a quick strike as running back, Tevin Brown busted off a 70-yard touchdown run. It was Brown’ seventh rushing score of the year and fifth in his last two outings.

Up next is a Thursday night TV game for Summit Country Day against undefeated CHCA (5-0, 2-0) for control of first place in the MVC. North College Hill will travel to Lockland (2-3, 0-2) in hopes of getting back on track.
