CINCINNATI - Perfection is getting closer as the Springboro (8-0, 3-0) offense continues to pound opponents with big line and multi-talented skill players. The Panthers took out upstart Miamisburg (5-3, 2-1)., 49-26.

For the fifth straight week, Springboro scored at least seven touchdowns as they are averaging 56.6 points during that span.

Quarterback Jack Schaaf was the catalyst for the Panthers’ offense, accounting for six touchdowns (three rushing, three passing). The junior ran for 114 yards on seven carries while throwing for 175 more. Jake Johnson had nine receptions for 106 yards and found the end zone three times. The senior had his third punt return for a score in the last four tilts and it was also the third time in five outings he has caught two touchdown passes. Running back Rahman Hardin joined Schaaf as the team’s two runners over with over 700 yards on the ground through eight affairs after putting up 88. Kyle Longworth’s 66 yards rushing leaves him just seven yards short of 700 on the season.

Miamisburg got a huge lift from senior Zak Kruer, who ran for 188 yards and three touchdowns in the first three quarters. Kruer would finish with 264 all-purpose yards. It is the second time in three weeks he has had at least that many all-purpose yards.

Springboro hosts a surprising Xenia (5-3, 2-1) team that could make life difficult for Springboro’s quest for a GWOC South title. Miamisburg gets the very tough task of having to try and win at Lebanon (6-2, 2-1).
