BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Notre Dame Academy's girls' basketball team could make Northern Kentucky sports history Saturday evening in Bowling Green, Ky.
The Pandas ousted last year's defending champions, Louisville's DuPont Manual High School, 64-60, to advance to the state final where they will face Marion County.
Marion beat Anderson County, 72-49 to hold onto a undefeated season.
If the Pandas win the state championship, they will be the first Northern Kentucky girls' basketball team to do so since the state Sweet 16 tournament began in 1975.
The two teams will face off at 9 p.m. Saturday night in Western Kentucky University's Diddle Arena.
