It was a night of nights for Northwest quarterback, Cory Roberson who orchestrated seven touchdown drives as the team picked up a signature win over Tecumseh (2-1). The junior threw for career highs of 287 yards on 17/24 attempts with five scoring tosses and he added 77 yards on the ground in what is arguably the programs most significant win in the last 20 years. Roberson’s performance throws hit hat in the ring as a contender for the Division II, Region 8 Offensive Player of the Year.

How good has the 6-foot-3, 180 pound Roberson been? He has completed 67.2% of his passes for 528 yards with eight touchdowns and just one interception on the season. He leads the club with 235 yards on the ground and four rushing touchdowns to lead Northwest to their sixth straight victory.

The Knights racked up 487 yards of total offense. Ramar Hairston had a receiving and a rushing touchdown. Jamie Trimble reeled in four receptions for 86 and found the end zone twice. Tristian Snow, DeQuan Render and Darius Johnson also hauled in scoring tosses from Roberson. Jason Phillips also found the goal line and had 65 yards on the ground.

Tecumseh running back, Chuck Buchanan ran for a game high 144 yards with two touchdowns. Christian Evans ran for a score and caught another. He ended up with 279 all-purpose yards for the Arrows.

Northwest opens SWOC play against Ross (1-2) as they look to avoid a letdown game. The Rams beat the Knights 13-6 a year ago and have not lost to Northwest since 2008.
