National Signing Day is here and several of the area’s top players have made their college decisions, including many from the GCL South.
The Ohio DI state champion Moeller Crusaders have 13 players that have committed to schools headlined by TSF Cincinnati Defensive Player of the Year, linebacker Shane Jones (6-1/220), who is headed to Michigan State. Other Crusaders to sign at BCS schools include running back Keith Watkins (Northwestern), tight end Evan Jansen (Indiana), and offensive lineman Alex Gall (Miami-FL).
Wide receiver Trey Kilgore (6-2/183) leads a strong 2013 class for St. Xavier as he will join Jones at Michigan State.
Amongst Elder’s signees is pair of teammates heading to Miami (OH) as both RB AJ Burdine (6-3/260) and OL Jake Hilvert (6-5/295) have landed with the RedHawks.
LaSalle defensive back Jaleel Hytchye (5-11/165) picked Kentucky from a long list of suitors. He will be joined by fellow Lancer, offensive linemen Dave Baumer (6-6/300), who will be preferred walk-on for the Wildcats.
