CINCINNATI - Six different offensive players scored touchdowns as Moeller (8-3) built a 29-7 halftime lead over visiting Wayne (7-4) and then cruised to victory in the first round of the Division I, Region 4 playoffs.
Crusaders quarterback Spencer Iacavone tied a career high with four touchdown passes. Big Moe would convert 9-13 third down attempts and rack up 414 total yards in the tilt.
GCL South Athlete of the Year, Keith Watkins ran for 110 yards for the 10th time in 11 outings while finding the end zone for the 20th time on the ground this season. The senior now has 1,592 yards rushing on the year. This was also the fifth straight week that Moeller has scored at least 42 points.
Wayne who fell for the third time in the last five weeks was paced by quarterback, Javon Harrison. The senior threw for 133 yards, picked up another 91 rushing with a touchdown on the ground and another passing. Receiver Tristan Davis was on the other end of Harrison’s scoring toss and had five catches for 109 yards.
Moeller will face Lakota East (8-3) next Saturday at a site to be determined on Sunday by OHSAA.
