CINCINNATI - The Highlands Bluebirds put 21 points on the scoreboard in the first quarter and rolled to a 56-14 win over the Boyd County Lions.
Despite only playing one quarter Donovan McCoy put up big numbers for Highlands (10-1) as he threw for 121 yards and a touchdown and rushed for another score from 17 yards out.
Junior running back Jaylen Hayes netted 115 yards and three touchdowns on just three carries for the Bluebirds in the win.
Next week Highlands will welcome Ashland Blazer, who beat Holmes 41-14 in Round 1.
