DAYTON, Ohio - Future Cincinnati Bearcat Kevin Johnson scored a game-high 29 points to lead Summit Country Day to a 63-49 victory over West Liberty-Salem in the Ohio high school district tournament at UD Arena Thursday night.
The Silver Knights (24-1) earned their 10th straight win thanks to a dominating first-half performance that gave them a commanding 31-20 lead at intermission.
West Liberty-Salem (20-6) was more competitive in the second half, but Summit Country Day managed to grow its lead to 14 points with a 32-29 second-half advantage.
Johnson, who is averaging better than 19 points per game this season , also pulled down 15 rebounds and dished out three assists for the Silver Knights (24-1). He was also 5 for 5 at the line.
Junior Antonio Woods added 15 points and a team-high five assists for Summit Country Day.
The Silver Knights have held each of their first three postseason opponents to less than 50 points. They've also knocked off the School of Creative and Performing Arts (63-43) and Purcell Marian (73-40) in the playoffs.
Summit Country Day will play Roger Bacon Wednesday, March 13 at Kettering Trent Arena for a berth in the regional finals (March 16).
