CINCINNATI - Four Seton High School swimmers qualified this weekend for the Division I Ohio High School Swimming State Championship that will be held at C.T. Branin Natorium in Canton, Ohio.

The 200 yard medley relay team of seniors Emily Hayhow and Ali Moehring, and juniors Kelley Kraemer and Lindsey Niehaus will represent the Saints at the state event. Hayhow also qualified in both the 50 yard freestyle and the 100 yard butterfly. Niehaus will also compete in the 100 yard backstroke.

“I couldn’t be prouder of these girls,” said Seton swim coach Terri Smith. “They work hard, are very well deserving and their talents continue to amaze me,” Smith was named Girls Greater Cincinnati League Coach of the Year prior to leading Seton to its fourth straight state meet.

Hayhow, one of the most decorated swimmers in Seton history, will be making her fourth appearance at the state tournament. She qualified in the 100 yard butterfly all four years. She was also part of the 200 yard freestyle relay team as a freshman and the 200 yard medley relay last year as a junior. Hayhow currently holds four Seton High School records (50 yard freestyle (24.38), 100 yard butterfly (57.00), 200 yard medley relay (1:49.70), and 200 yard freestyle relay (1:40.08)).

Niehaus and Kraemer are competing at the state meet for the second time after being part of the medley last year and breaking the Seton record. Niehaus swims the backstroke leg for the school’s record-setting 200 yard medley relay team. Kraemer will swim the breaststroke leg.

Moehring will compete for the first time at the state championship when she swims the anchor leg of the 200 yard medley relay.
