Mount Healthy running back, Tyree Elliott was named the 2012 Division II Southwest District Offensive Player of the Year, Trotwood-Madison linebacker, Mike McCray takes home the same honors on the defensive side of the ball and Northwest head coach, Chad Murphy was tabbed Coach of the Year.

Elliott was peaking having ran for 1,145 yards and 17 touchdowns before tearing his ACL in Week 8 against Wilmington. The junior was coming off back-to-back games with over 240 yards and four straight tilts with three touchdowns when the injury occurred. Despite his season being cut short his efforts were still looked at in high regard.

McCray, who has verbally committed to Michigan led the Trotwood-Madison defense to four shutouts while holding three other foes to seven points or fewer this fall. McCray was the 2011 TriStateFootball.com Defensive Player of the Year and 1st Team All-Ohio selection as a junior.

Murphy led Northwest to their first ever 8-0 start and first post-season appearance since 1990. He is now 17-14 in three years as the Knights front man.
