The Elder Panthers headed north to pay a visit to Upper Arlington, but the Panthers showed no mercy to the Golden Bears as they demolished them 45-7. This is the first time these teams have faced off since 1969.

Elder (2-0) saw nothing but the endzone their first five possessions of the game. Senior quarterback Josh Moore connected for nearly all of his passes, completing 13 of 16 for 193 yards and two touchdowns. By the end of the first half, the Panthers more than doubled the amount of yardage by Upper Arlington, 287-111.

The Golden Bear’s only points came from senior running back Gus Ackley, who ran an impressive 78 yards into Elder territory for a touchdown. He finished the game with seven carries for just under 100 yards.

Elder’s defense was able to stop Upper Arlington’s (1-1) running game and even sacked Golden Bears quarterback Alex Husted four times, leaving minimal time for UA’s offense to produce.

Elder will look to continue their winning streak as they remain on the road with a trip south to Louisville to face Trinity, who was ranked No. 16 entering this weekend’s action nationally in the RivalsHIGH 100.
