CINCINNATI - As good as the Summit Country Day (11-1) defense was in during the season, the Covington (12-0) offense was that much more special on Saturday night in a crushing win over the Silver Knights to advance to the Region 20 championship against powerhouse, Coldwater (12-0).

The Buccs scored on their first nine possessions making it 58-0 against an exhausted SCD defense that came in allowing just 13.2 points per game.

AJ Ouellette ran for 134 yards with four touchdowns, kicked six extra points, hit a 24-yards field to amass 33 points himself. The junior now has 45 touchdowns on the season. Justin Williams found the end zone twice on short carries. Quarterback, Trent Tobias ran for one and threw another touchdown to Kyle Deeters for the victors. Covington dominated the time of possession battle while racking up 420 yards of total offense, 355 of those on the ground.

Summit compounded their troubles with four turnovers. The Silver Knights generated just 78 yards of total offense, only nine of those came rushing. They also ran 27 fewer plays than Covington. The SCD defense gave up just 60 points during the regular season. They allowed 82 in two playoff tilts. It was a formula that made for a night that would soon want to be forgotten for the kids from Grandin Lane.

Despite the ending, Summit Country Day still had a banner year with a school record 11 wins, their first playoff win and unprecedented third straight playoff appearance for the school, all under head coach, Mike Brown. There is still work to be done to advance the program to the next level. The three post-season losses by the team have been by an average of 60-9. The Covingtons and Coldwaters of Region 20 have set a bar that the Silver Knights are moving closer toward but still have some work to do to get there.
