CINCINNATI - A momentous season came to an end for Dixie (7-4) as they fell to Covington (11-0), 55-18. The Greyhounds, who were making their first-ever playoff appearance, had no answers for the Buccaneers fantastic rushing attack.

Covington racked up 492 yards of total offense, including 432 on the ground. Senior AJ Ouellette ran for four touchdowns, all in the first three quarters, for the victors. Ouellette raised his touchdown total on the year to 41.

The Bucs built a 35-12 half time lead and then came out after intermission with a 20-0 run in the third quarter to seal Dixie’s fate. Quarterback Troy Cron also ran for two scores and threw for two more with an interception on defense in the win.

The Greyhounds cut the lead to 28-12 when quarterback Luke Bowling hooked up with Ryan Jordan for a 24 yard score midway through the second quarter. Covington would go on to post 27 unanswered points over the next stanza and a half. Jordan had over 100 all-purpose yards and also scored on a 67 yards scamper in the opening period. Jordan finished his senior season with 25 total touchdowns and over 1,500 yards rushing.
