The Cooper Jaguars ran their winning streak to five give games in convincing fashion as they shutout the Holmes Bulldogs 29-0 on Friday night in Hebron.
Cooper (5-0) got on the scoreboard 20 seconds into the game as Aaron Morgan scored on 80-yard TD pass from Tyler Morris. The Jaguars would go on to put 19 unanswered points on the scoreboard in the first quarter and they never looked back
Morris along with AJ Collins continue to do major damage on the ground. The duo combined for 190 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns in the victory. The Jaguars have now won 10 of their last 11 contests. Morris added 141 passing yards.
The Cooper defense also continued its impressive play. It marked their second shutout of the season and they’ve only allowed 29 points all season.
After starting the year with a pair of victories Holmes (2-2) has now dropped two straight games, managing just one touchdown in their last six quarters of play.
District plays starts for both teams next week as Cooper plays host to Scott while Holmes travels to Pendleton County.
