CINCINNATI - After suffering their first loss of the season a week ago to Conner, the Cooper Jaguars kept their district title hopes alive by squeaking pass the South Oldham Dragons, 21-14.
With the game tied at 14-14 with just over three minutes left in the game Cooper (7-1, 2-1) got the decisive score as quarterback Tyler Morris plunged in to the endzone from the 1-yard line. Morris finished the night with 13 rushes for 13 carries to go along with 68 yards on 5-of-14 passing.
AJ Collins provided most of the offense for the Jaguars in the district showdown as he rushed for 159 yards and a pair of touchdowns (4, 19 yards) on 31 carries.
Quarterback Jack Sherry ran for one score a 1-yard plunge and connected with David Culbertson from 41-yards out for a passing touchdown to account for South Oldaham’s (6-2, 2-1) other score.
South Oldham welcomes Scott next Friday as district action continues while Cooper gets a bye before hosting Grant County (Oct 19).
