It was stellar defense that propelled Chaminade-Julienne (5-1, 3-0) to their fourth straight victory. The Eagles held the potent McNicholas (4-2, 2-1) offense to just 10 points, 26 below their average. The Rockets ran 62 plays but only averaged 3.4 yards every time they snapped the ball.
Darrien Howard touched the ball just four times on offense for C-J but managed to find the end zone three times. Two of those were on receptions from freshman quarterback, Jacob Harrison. The Eagles signal-caller ended the evening with a career-high three touchdown passes. The other scoring toss went to Ja’mel Sanders. Antwan Persons led all rushers with 99 yards. It was the fourth straight game the Eagles runner has surpassed the 90 yards mark on the ground.
McNick led 10-7 after and Austin Ernst touchdown run early in the fourth quarter. Chaminade-Julienne exploded after that finding the end zone three times in the contests final nine and a half minutes.
Chaminade-Julienne heads south to Badin (3-3, 1-2) next weekend. McNicholas hosts undefeated Alter (5-0, 3-0) on Saturday.
