CINCINNATI - The annual “Battle for the Paddle” was a one-sided affair on Friday night as the Bellevue Tigers rolled past the Dayton Greendevils, 58-0.

Bellevue (5-4, 2-1) locked up the No. 2 seed in the district and a first-round home playoff game with a convincing victory.

Junior running back Dylan Huff led the offense with 173 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries. Senior linebacker Cameron Pangallo stole the show on defense though as he scored three defensive touchdowns on a pair of interceptions and a fumble recovery while finishing with 10 total tackles.

D.J. Walker finished with only 81 yards on 30 carries in the loss for Dayton (3-6, 1-2), who now will be forced to hit the road to open up the playoffs.

The series is the most played matchup in the state of Kentucky with this year’s edition marking the 86th year the two schools have met on the gridiron with them playing for the 133rd time. The Tigers have now won six straight meetings with the Greendevils, who last won in 2007.

Bellevue welcomes Lloyd while Dayton welcomes Carroll County to close out the regular season next Friday night.
