CINCINNATI - After getting out of the gate slowly, the Beechwood Tigers scored 33 unanswered third-quarter points to put away the Dayton Greendevils and claim the Class 1A, District 4 title on Friday night with a 54-20 road victory.

Dayton (3-5, 1-1), who entered the contest as winners of two straight games, play inspired football early by forcing three Tigers turnovers as they took a 14-0 lead on a pair of TD passes from freshman Dylan Adams to junior tight end Austin Brockman.

Senior Max Nussbaum finally got Beechwood (5-3, 2-0) on the scoreboard during the second frame when he scored on a 56-yard TD run to cut the lead to 14-7 at the half.

It was all Tigers after the intermission. Nussbaum would add four more scores during the third quarter on runs of 27, 45, 23 and 13 yards. Quarterback Cameron Lane connected with Jalen Hayden for a 37-yard TD pass and would later add a 6-yard rushing touchdown. Mitch Thomas accounted for the Tigers other score as he rushed for a 34-yard TD in the fourth quarter.

Adams finished with 143 yards and three touchdowns of 5-of-10 passing in the loss for the Greendevils.

Beechwood finishes up their district slate next week with a trip to Ludlow while Dayton squares off with neighborhood rival Bellevue at Gilligan Field.
