WALTON, Ky-These two teams met for the third time this season. Walton-Verona won the first meeting by one point. That occurred in the championship game of a tournament in Gatlinburg, Tn. The second was the first KHSAA District 32 game at Grant County. Walton-Verona won that one by eight points.

GC had a three point lead early in the game and trailed the rest of the half. WV's largest lead came at the three minute mark left in the half at 13 points by a 10 foot jumper by Zach McNeil. He had a double-double on the night with 10 assists and 19 points.
Three other WV players hit double digits in the scoring column: Tanner Moeves 19, Matt Hargett 15, Daniel Helton 15.
Toward the end of the first half, GC went on a 10-5 run that was capped off by a three pointer by Logan Cummins at the buzzer. That brought the Braves within eight points. Cummins finished with six points, and teammate senior guard Trevor Hunt had 20 points and nine rebounds along with sophomore guard Tyler Carr who had 20 points.
The teams will meet one more time in the District 32 tournament as they are both the number two and three seeds. That will be played at the Braves home court.
