Positive start for the Bengals

CINCINNATI - The Bengals have gone through a week of work and all signs so far are positive

"We wanted to get through some plays, simulate the game as much as we can with everybody on the field, having to call plays and substitutions with the 25-second clock" said Coach Marvin Lewis after Saturday's scrimmage at Paul Brown Stadium.

There was some payback in Saturday's game.

The offense made some plays during a short-yardage drill earlier in the week. The defense felt it redeemed itself in a couple of clutch short-yardage situations on Saturday.

There were five cornerbacks among the eleven players held out of Saturday's scrimmage because of various injuries.

The Bengals play their Black/White Mock Game Sunday night at 6p.m.  Gates open at 4p.m. The Bengals first preseason game is Friday night against the New York Jets at Paul Brown Stadium.
