CINCINNATI - After a nearly perfect performance on Sunday, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer has been named as a finalist for the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week award.
Palmer completed 16 of 21 passes for 269 yards and four touchdowns in Cincinnati's 34-20 win over the San Diego Chargers at Paul Brown Stadium. The victory was Cincinnati's fourth of the season and subsequently knocked San Diego out of playoff contention.
Palmer is one of three finalists for the award along with Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Tampa Bay Bucs quarterback Josh Freeman.

One of Palmer's targets, Jerome Simpson, is also up for an award for his efforts in Sunday's impressive win.
Simpson is one of three finalists for the GMC Never Say Never Moment of the Week. The third-year receiver caught six passes for 124 yards and two touchdowns. His 59-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter gave the Bengals a two-score lead that they held onto.
Simpson is up against Rodgers and Denver quarterback Tim Tebow's for this week's award.
