Lawyer claims victim wants money from Benson

CINCINNATI - The lawyer for Cincinnati Bengals RB Cedric Benson is claiming his client is in the middle of an extortion scheme.
Benson's lawyer, David Cornwell, says the victim Benson allegedly punched is demanding money from him.
Benson was arrested on July 17 in Austin, Texas after Clavens Charles claimed Benson punched him in the face.
Charles' lawyer is threatening to talk to media outlets, including TMZ, about the incident if the demands for a "settlement metting" aren't met.
Charles and Benson are former roommates.
