CINCINNATI - The Cincinnati Bengals made the appropriate roster adjustments Friday to get down to the NFL limit of 53 before the regular season begins this week.

The Bengals made the following 22 roster moves in reaching the NFL limit of 53:

Placed S Tony Dye (ankle) on the Reserve/Injured list.

Placed DT Pat Sims (hamstring) on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list. Sims will remain with the team for rehab and meetings, but may not practice for Weeks 1-6 of the regular season. Beginning the week following Week 6, he will be eligible to return to practice under a roster exemption. Upon returning to practice, he may work during a 21-day period, the end of which serves as a deadline for his roster exemption, with his status moving forward to be determined.

Moved LB Dontay Moch to the Reserve/Suspended by Commissioner list for games 1-4 for violating NFL policy on performance enhancing substances.

Waived DT Nick Hayden with an injury settlement (ankle, third-year player, Wisconsin).

Waived 18 players:

--FB Jourdan Brooks (rookie, Morgan State)

--TE Colin Cochart (second year player, South Dakota State)

--LS Bryce Davis (rookie, Central Oklahoma)

--FB James Develin (first-year player, Brown)

--DE DeQuin Evans (first-year player, Kentucky)

--WR Vidal Hazelton (first-year player, Cincinnati)
