Bengals safety Robert Sands arrested on domestic assault charges

FLORENCE, Ky. - Cincinnati Bengals safety Robert Sands was arrested Friday morning after allegedly assaulting his wife.

According to police report, Sands was charged with assault and domestic violence following the incident at his home in Florence, Ky. Friday morning.

A comment from the Bengals organization was not immediately available.

Sands was drafted by the Bengals in the fifth round of the 2011 NFL Draft out of West Virginia and has spent the entire 2012 season on injured reserve following chest surgery.
