Bengals activate C Kyle Cook, release WR Armon Binns

CINCINNATI - The Bengals activated center Kyle Cook Saturday and released wide receiver Armon Binns.

Cook, a 6-3, 315 fifth-year player suffered an ankle injury in the preseason and was placed on the IR, designated as the team's player eligible for possible return.

Cook has been practicing with the team since last week on a roster exemption. Cook opened 2012 preseason as the team’s No. 1 center. He made 50 consecutive Bengals starts through the end of last season, tied at the time for longest active streak on the team.

It is unclear how much he will be involved with the Bengals vs. Cowboys game this Sunday at 1 p.m.

Binns played in eight games this season with five starts, but has been inactive for the last two games and three of the last four. He had 18 catches for 210 yards and one TD.
