Baylor ends No. 8 Kentucky's 54-game winning streak at Rupp Arena

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - EXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -- Kentucky's 54-game winning streak at Rupp Arena came to an end when the No. 8 Wildcats were upset by Baylor 64-55 Saturday.

Pierre Jackson scored 17 points and Isaiah Austin and A.J. Walton each added 11 for the Bears (5-2). Brady Heslip and Cory Jefferson each added 10 points and Baylor beat the Wildcats for the first time in eight tries.

Baylor shot 41 percent but held Kentucky (4-3) to 21-of-71, or 30 percent, from the floor.

Archie Goodwin scored 17 points for Kentucky before fouling out with 1:44 remaining in the game. Alex Poythress added 13 and Nerlens Noel eight for the Wildcats.

After trailing for the first 15 minutes Baylor took its first lead at 20-19 on Jackson's 3-pointer and stayed close before closing the half with a 12-2 run for a 34-29 lead. The Bears kept the Wildcats at bay with a zone defense that forced Kentucky into 16 turnovers.

Kentucky lost its second in a row. The Wildcats lost 64-50 on Thursday night at Notre Dame, their lowest score under coach John Calipari.

For Baylor, the game offered some revenge after Kentucky beat the Bears in last year's Elite Eight en route to its eighth national title.

It took a little while for Baylor to get going.

Heslip, who missed last week's game against the College of Charleston after having an emergency appendectomy on Nov. 20.

Baylor used a zone defense to flummox the Wildcats, and they never got closer than three points in the second half.
