HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) -- Brittany Morris scored 18 points and Seton Hall beat Cincinnati 60-55 Friday in the opening game of the Big East tournament.

Ka-Deidre Simmons added 13 points for the 12th-seeded Pirates (11-19) and Breanna Jones chipped in with eight points and nine rebounds.

Alexis Durley had 11 points and Lesha Dunn had 10 for Cincinnati (12-18), the 13th seed, which led 30-28 at the half.

Seton Hall took control in the second half, going on a 17-2 run to turn a 35-33 deficit into a 50-37 lead.

Cincinnati cut that to three points late, but Morris hit four key free throws down the stretch to secure the win.

The Pirates, who had won just one other game this season when trailing at halftime, will face fifth-seeded St. John's on Saturday.
