Big names hit the court in Mason on Tuesday

MASON, Ohio - Some of the biggest names in tennis will start their journey at the Western and Southern Open Tuesday at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason.

Wild card Venus Williams will start the action with an 11 a.m. match against Maria Kirilenko of Russia at Center Court.  Seven other singles matches will also be played at 11 a.m. including Tommy Haas of Germany against David Nalbandian of Argentina on the Grandstand Court.

The afternoon matches at center court belong to two of the top American men's players. 16th-seeded Andy Roddick plays Jeremy Chardy of France, and then 10th-seeded Mardy Fish competes against Spain's Feliciano Lopez.

The night session, which begins at 7 p.m. will feature second seeded Serena Williams against Qualifier Eleni Danilidou of Greece.  Fifth-seeded Tomas Berdych will play Yen-Hsun Lu in the second evening match.

A total of 41 singles and doubles matches are scheduled for Tuesday.  A full match schedule can be found at www.cincytennis.com.
