GOODYEAR, Ariz. – A pair of runs in the bottom of the eighth inning helped the Reds earn a 6-5 come-from-behind victory over the Brewers Saturday afternoon at Goodyear Ballpark.

Cesar Izturis, 33, opened the eighth-inning scoring with a single that plated Donald Lutz. A one-out groundout to the pitcher by Corky Miller later in the inning allowed Mike Hessman to score the winning run from third base.

Izturis, a non-roster invitee who will have to play his way onto the team, also hit a solo home run in the sixth inning off Brewers lefty Travis Webb.

"We won, but it's hard to win like that," Reds manager Dusty Baker was quoted as saying in a Reds.com article . "We missed some signs. We just have to tighten up our game."

Reds starter Homer Bailey struggled in two innings of work, allowing four hits, three runs (one earned) and hitting a batter. He was scheduled to pitch three innings.

Baker said Bailey, who struck out only one batter during the contest, threw the ball well but struggled to get betters out.

"He had a 30-pitch inning that first inning," Baker said after the game. "We didn't want to give him another inning and took him out. He threw the ball real good. He just couldn't put them away. I think three of their hits were two-strike hits."

Reds relief pitcher Sean Marshall threw well, striking out a pair in a scoreless inning of work.

Logan Schafer led the Brewers offense with two hits and two RBIs.
